Rita Arhaug

I come from Fosnavåg, a small coastal town on Sunnmøre. I work at a kindergarden and on my spare time I like to be active in nature and challenge myself to try new things. Last year there were sea kayaking certificate, via ferrata and alpine ski touring. I love to be on adventures around our beautiful country, see new views, have new experiences and just enjoy nature and the silence and peace it gives.

My ultimate outdoor experience

It must be a spectacular mountain trip with raw views! I am lucky to live centrally in relation to Stryn with glaciers, lush nature and turquoise waters. I also have the Sunnmør Alps, Romsdalen, Trolltinds with peaky mountains and climbing, and Geiranger with waterfalls and fjord nearby. If you, like me, love rough walks and nice views, then these places are at the top of the list.

Hiking tips from Rita

If you are going on a longer trip, pack wool and an all-weather cloak and some extra food. The weather changes quickly and the trip can quickly be longer than you plan. Always check the weather forecast before you go and during your trip. There is no shame in turning back! A power bank can be nice to have with you. And the most important thing “traceless travel”, remember to take trash home with you. And if you have to go to the bathroom, it’s a good idea to bring dog bags with you. It is not pleasant or nice to find a lot of paper, poo and trash around nature. Tips for tours: Geiranger, Stryn, Sunnmørsalpane, Romsdalen and Herøy.

Test Pilot for Mall of Norway

As a Test Pilot for Mall of Norway, I am lucky and get to try out clothing brands I have not tried before and find new favorites. I get to try out what clothes are suitable for the different tours and by giving feedback I help them to be even better. At the same time as I get to show off the beautiful nature and hiking opportunities we have in our country.
